Lingered and Died
©1998-2000 Alexandra O'Mallory

that of an angry summer
storm filled sky.
She was but half child

caressed down her thighs
and she relied
on the backseats of adolescent fantasy.
All those young boys
lingered and died
longing for a look, a smile,
